Our journey continues to Crete, where Venetian harbours, medieval alleyways and iconic beaches set the scene. Tour Plan

Day 1: Tuesday 1st June – Hello Athens (2 nights)

Welcome to fabulous Athens! Upon arrival at the Athens airport, you will be met by a private driver/escort for your transfer to the 4* Athens Niche Boutique Hotel or Athens Fresh Hotel.  This evening, meet the rest of our fellow travellers for a welcome drink at the iconic Brettos Cocktail Bar, one of Athens’ oldest distilleries with an eclectic selection of drinks to toast to our trip in true Greek style! After our drink, we walk through the pedestrian friendly and historic Plaka district, with its inviting shops and timeless ancient sites to our welcome dinner at a traditional family run taverna. D  

Day 2: Wednesday 2nd June – The sights and sounds of Athens

This morning, we start our Athens sightseeing at the Acropolis Metro to view various antiquities found during its construction.  We take a ride to Constitution Square station to view numerous other antiquities found in situ, followed by the fascinating and unusual changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Greek Parliament.  Let’s continue walking down the boutique lined Ermou Street, named after Hermes, the God of Commerce, no coincidence there 😊) and then onto the largest open produce, meat and fish market in Greece.  Vibrant, colourful and enticing, the aromas of herbs and spices will delight! Through the market maze, we will stop at a traditional Ouzeri for Mezze’s (Greek appetisers) and of course, an Ouzo, Greece’s famous fire water.  Take a break this afternoon as you wish and meet in the evening for our tour of the famous Acropolis and one of the most famous temples in the world, the Parthenon, dedicated to the Goddess Athina. The rest of your evening is at leisure. B (plus Mezze’s at market).

Day 3: Thursday 3rd June – We’re off to Milos (4 nights)

After breakfast, transfer to the port of Piraeus to embark on our fast ferry to sail on the sparkling Aegean and onto our first Greek island, Milos, located in the South-West Cycladic Islands.  Upon arrival we will be met and transferred to our hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure to relax at our lovely hotel and/or it’s nearby beach. This evening, we will get together and discover Palaiochorri, followed by a delightful treat of typical Aegean and Cycladic dishes, celebrating our first evening on the Greek Islands.  Our dinner this evening will include lamb cooked in the hot volcanic sand on the beach B D

Day 4: Friday 4th June – Let’s get acquainted with Milos

An exciting ATV adventure excursion awaits.  This thrilling day will delight!  Explore some of the island’s iconic sites.  Including, the extraordinary Sarakiniko moonscape beach, quaint fishing villages like Mandrakia, Firopotamos and Klima.  Visit catacombs and ancient theatres on this exciting ATV island trip.  This evening, let’s get together for drinks and dinner in the village of Plaka with a sensational view and sunset dinner. B D

Day 5: Saturday 5th June – Daytrip to Kimolos

This morning, we island hop to stunning Kimolos, a nearby island still virtually unheard of and unspoilt. Famous for its idyllic and pristine beaches with crystal clear waters, volcanic landscapes and mineral rich chalk, (Kimola) from where the name of the island is derived.  Walk around the quaint village alleyways of Plaka, the main town of the island, with its boho-chic ambiance, quaint cafes and boutiques, high-end galleries and craft shops. Enjoy an included lunch at a seaside taverna with island specialities. We return to Milos in the late afternoon where you have the balance of your evening at leisure.  B L

Day 6: Sunday 6th June – Milos your way

To do or not to do?!?! A day at leisure… It’s your day, enjoy it as you wish! There is still plenty to do on the island at your own pace.  Several boat trips are available to enjoy swimming and snorkelling around the Milos coastline, visiting the famous Kleftiko sea rocks and the surrounding uninhabited and idyllic islands B

Day 7:Monday 7th h June – Sail from Milos to enchanting Crete (3 nights)

This morning, we all say goodbye to Milos and begin our journey to the largest island in Greece. A private transfer will be provided from the hotel to the port where we will then board our fast ferry to Chania. Upon our arrival, we will be met at the port and a private transfer will be provided to our hotel, the 4+ GK Beach Hotel (area of Kalyves) with 3 nights accommodation Let’s enjoy sunset drinks and a taverna dinner in Kalyves this evening. B D

Day 8: Tuesday 8th June – A visit to charming Chania

This morning, we explore the colourful and historic town of Chania (ancient Kandia) on a walking tour of the medieval streets, with its picturesque and very charming waterfront.  Chania’s beautiful buildings reflect centuries of rich history and culture featuring remnants of crusaders, Venetians and Ottomans. A delicious highlight this morning will be our fun pastry class to make a classic Cretan Bougatsa, a gorgeous creamy custard filling enveloped in a crisp and flaky phyllo pastry, topped off with powdered sugar and cinnamon, as well as Cretan Loukoumades (honey fritters). The balance of the day and evening is at your leisure. Explore more of Chania with interactive exhibitions, museums, maybe a relaxing Hamam, or head to nearby coasts for swimming and its plethora of water sport activities. B

Day 9: Wednesday 9th June – Life is a Beach…Balos Beach

They say life is a beach…find out, on this daytrip to one of the most iconic poster beaches in Crete and in Greece, the famous Balos Beach. Snacks and refreshments will be provided on today’s excursion. Our trip includes a transfer to Kissamos and then a boat to Balos to enjoy this amazing beach and location.  Return to our hotel this evening, followed by sunset Cretan Mezze’s at the Chania waterfront for our final evening together. Day 10: Thursday 10th June - Chania Departure

After breakfast, one block transfers will be provided to either the airport or port for your departure from Crete and homebound travel arrangements.
